The picture shows the team owner Dr. John DuFour and his wife Wendy attending the 2023 Penn State Homecoming parade! John is a car buff and racing dreamer. John says that starting True Grit feels like a living dream! John began his professional career as a Rocketdyne Avionics Test Engineer supporting NASA's Space Shuttle Main Engine Program. While at Rocketdyne and later Lockheed Martin Space Systems, John learned test system design, implementation, and management. He is also well versed in system modeling, simulation, and data analysis. John is in his 15th year working as an engineer and is currently employed at Raytheon as a Agile Team Systems Engineer and Solutions Analyst. John was also a High School Math and Physics teacher for 7 years. John holds a B.S. in Computer Science, an M.S. in Systems Engineering, and a doctorate in Engineering Management (D.Eng.).
Matthew Caswell is a significant contributor and partner. Like John, Matt is a car buff and racing dreamer. Matt is an avid car tuner and mechanic. He is in his 6th year of working as an engineer. His experience includes ultrasonic transducer design and manufacturing support. He currently works as a Raytheon Agile Team Systems Engineer. His experience base also includes 3D Modeling and simulation, additive manufacturing, mechanical product design and test, and manufacturing line design. Matt holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, a B.S. in Physics, and a M.S. in Systems Engineering.
